Nicolae Daniel SANDA
DEFENCE INTELLIGENCE & BEHAVIOURAL ANALYSIS SPECIALIST

Nicolae Daniel is an intelligence professional with a background in Defence Intelligence, where he focused on investigating complex cases linked to sabotage, subversion, espionage and counterterrorism. His higher education in technical and economic fields gives him a solid analytical foundation for complex, multi-layered investigations that combine human, financial and technical evidence.

Over more than 25 years of experience, Daniel has developed deep expertise in human behaviour applied to intelligence and investigative work. He can reconstruct behavioural models and recognise typologies and trends across economic, financial, social and security environments, an ability sharpened by years of casework where understanding actors and their motivations was as important as following the evidence.

At BIPA, Daniel brings the perspective of the intelligence community into blockchain intelligence training. He helps defence, security and intelligence agencies understand how hostile state actors, terrorist networks and organised groups use cryptoassets to finance operations, evade sanctions and conceal their activities, and how on-chain analysis can be combined with traditional intelligence sources, cyber and threat intelligence to support attribution and operational decisions. His contribution ensures that BIPA’s training programmes for intelligence agencies reflect their operational realities, linking transaction tracing to the human factor behind every case.

"Levelling up is about improving, not impressing." Real progress is measured by what we learn, not by what we display. In intelligence work, results come from patience, discipline and honest assessment, not from appearances. The same holds true for blockchain intelligence: professionals grow through constant effort and the willingness to learn from every case, building expertise step by step that serves the mission rather than the image.
