Open call for International Collaboration in Blockchain Intelligence

Open call for International Collaboration in Blockchain Intelligence

The inaugural Blockchain Intelligence Forum 2025, an event of significant global importance co-hosted by the Blockchain Intelligence Professionals Association (BIPA) was attended by over 500 delegates from more than 35 countries, including government officials, leaders from central banks, financial institutions, law enforcement agencies, and regulatory bodies, who gathered to address the critical challenges of Blockchain analytics & intelligence.

The Blockchain Intelligence Professionals Association (BIPA) launched an open call for international collaboration in Blockchain Intelligence to 130 regulators, supervisors and international organizations, from 90 countries on 6 continents

KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THE FORUM

1.    Blockchain Intelligence Central to Global Security, Financial Stability and Innovation

Firstly, it was decisively agreed that blockchain intelligence is no longer an emerging add-on to financial crime investigation and compliance, it is becoming a central pillar in ensuring global security, financial stability and innovation.

2.    Common Standards for Blockchain Intelligence

Secondly, a consistent theme throughout the Forum was the urgent need for common standards for blockchain analytics & intelligence, data exchange, and technological interoperability. The current fragmentation in blockchain data standards, inconsistent address labeling, and regulatory divergences significantly hinder effective cross-border investigations and regulatory oversight.

Without universally acceptable data formats and taxonomies, sharing intelligence and independently verifying results become significantly complicated. Interoperability was highlighted as not merely a technical challenge, but a governance, legal, and strategic priority.

3.    Professionalization of the Blockchain Analytics & Intelligence Discipline

Thirdly, speakers emphasized the critical need to accelerate the professionalization of blockchain intelligence and establish formal training pathways. This professionalization is essential to address the shortage of skilled practitioners and to build investigative capabilities that combine technical literacy, forensic investigation skills, financial compliance expertise, and ethical integrity.

CALL TO ACTION

Considering these pressing needs, the Forum concluded with strong calls to action for deepened international collaboration, and strategic investment.

BIPA invited regulators, supervisors and international organizations to join these global efforts. We urge support for the establishment of recognized training and certification frameworks, the definition of core competencies, and the embedding of blockchain analytics & intelligence career pathways within government, regulatory, and financial sector institutions.

We firmly believe that through concerted international efforts, we can transform blockchain analytics & intelligence into a trusted, global discipline essential for the resilience of future financial systems and the credibility of digital finance innovation.
