UN Conference Highlights the Need for Global Standards in Blockchain Intelligence

Doha, Qatar, December 2025 – The importance of establishing global standards in blockchain analytics and intelligence was emphasized during the United Nations COSP11 Tech Day conference, attended by Bogdan Vacusta, Chairman of the Blockchain Intelligence Professionals Association (BIPA).

The high-level event brought together regulators, international organizations, and private-sector experts to explore how virtual asset regulation can remain fit for the future—supporting innovation while effectively addressing financial crime risks. A clear consensus emerged that blockchain intelligence has become a critical component of modern regulatory and supervisory frameworks.

Participants highlighted that the cross-border nature of digital assets requires harmonised analytical approaches and interoperable intelligence frameworks. Fragmented methodologies and inconsistent data interpretation were identified as key challenges that limit effective supervision, enforcement, and international cooperation.

The discussions further stressed that technology alone is insufficient. Trusted blockchain intelligence depends on strong governance, professional standards, and clear institutional arrangements that enable reliable data sharing and collaboration between regulators, law enforcement, and the private sector.

The conference reinforced a growing global understanding: standardisation in blockchain intelligence is essential to align innovation with financial integrity. As digital assets continue to reshape the financial system, consistent and professional intelligence practices are increasingly seen as a prerequisite for effective regulation and sustainable market development.
