Dave Verma is an investigations, counter-fraud, information security and professional education specialist with more than 30 years’ experience across public-sector investigations, higher education, government advisory work and consultancy. He completed his MSc in Information Security with distinction in 2002 and, in the same year, established the UK’s first public-sector computer forensic laboratory. He is also a Certified Blockchain Intelligence Specialist (CBIS).
Dave has taken part in numerous joint police operations, receiving a Commander’s Award for his contribution, and has supported corporate fraud prosecutions by helping develop and present evidence in complex and sensitive cases. For 11 years he lectured as an expert at the Metropolitan Police Detective Training School, training approximately 8,000 officers in public-sector fraud and corruption, bribery, conflicts of interest, computer crime and computer forensics. He has also advised numerous UK government departments and public bodies on procurement fraud, governance and fraud risk, and has acted as a whistleblowing expert in highly contentious and confidential cases. As Director of Templarii Ltd, he continues to advise public organisations on confidential investigations, governance, information security and the management of sensitive disclosures.
At BIPA, Dave leads international relations, building connections with institutions and professionals worldwide. His contribution to blockchain intelligence centres on investigative judgement and evidence evaluation: helping professionals assess analytical findings critically, understand their evidential limitations and turn technical outputs into reliable intelligence that investigators, legal professionals and decision-makers can scrutinise and use.
